What is included in the Captain Clears Clean & Protect Kit?
The kit includes Captain Clears Cleaner to safely remove salt, grime and water spots, and Captain Clears Polish to restore clarity while adding long-lasting UV and water-repellent protection.
What surfaces can I use the kit on?
The kit is designed for Strataglass®, PVC and other flexible marine clear enclosures. Always test on an inconspicuous area before first use.
Can I use it on acrylic, polycarbonate or glass?
No. Captain Clears is specifically formulated for flexible marine clears. It is not recommended for acrylic, polycarbonate or standard glass.
How often should I use the kit?
For vessels regularly exposed to saltwater and UV, clean the clears as required and reapply the polish every 4–8 weeks, or whenever water repellency begins to diminish.
Will it remove scratches?
Captain Clears is designed to clean, restore clarity and protect marine clears. It may reduce the appearance of very light surface marks, but it is not intended to remove deep scratches or damage.
Can I apply the polish with a machine?
Yes. Captain Clears Polish can be applied by hand or with a rotary or dual-action buffer fitted with a clean microfibre buffing pad at low speed for faster, more consistent results.
Why should I use the cleaner before the polish?
Cleaning removes salt, grime and contaminants that can interfere with the polish bonding to the surface. Using both products together delivers the best clarity, protection and durability.
Will it help extend the life of my marine clears?
Yes. Regular cleaning and protection help minimise UV damage, salt build-up, oxidation and environmental contamination, keeping your marine clears clearer for longer and helping extend their service life.
