1. Why is this wash pH 12 instead of pH neutral?
When you’re dealing with red dirt, caked-on mud, and heavy salt, a pH-neutral soap often isn't enough. The alkaline (pH 12) level provides the chemical "bite" needed to dissolve organic matter and minerals, doing the hard work so you don't have to spend hours scrubbing.
2. Will this wash strip the wax off my car?
Yes, eventually. This particular formula is aggressive on dirt and will begin to break down traditional wax coatings over time. If your car is waxed, we recommend topping up the protection with Final Touch or Drip Dry after your wash.
3. Is it safe for my ceramic coating?
Yes. Modern ceramic coatings are designed to be chemically resistant. Our 4WD & RV Wash is safe for ceramic-coated vehicles and is actually excellent for "deep cleaning" the coating to restore its hydrophobic properties.
4. Can I use this in the sun?
We strongly recommend against it. It is important to make sure your vehicle is out of direct sunlight, and the surface is cool to the touch. Never let the chemicals dry on the surface, as the high alkalinity can cause spotting if it evaporates before rinsing.
5. How do I clean the chassis and wheel arches properly?
Use the Captain’s Musket & the Chassis Grenade to blast the 4WD & RV Wash deep into the chassis rails. We have another product called Chassis Flush Solution that is focused more on the removal of salt and rust protection.
6. Do I need to scrub the whole car?
For light dust, a foam, rinse and light scrubis often sufficient. However, for stubborn stains, red dirt, or heavy mud, we recommend using a wash mitt or soft-bristle brush to agitate the foam heavily while it's soaking to ensure a perfect finish. Repeat this process twice for the best results
7. Is it safe for my caravan’s seals and windows?
Yes. It is safe for the plastics, rubbers, and acrylic windows commonly found on caravans and RVs. Just ensure you rinse thoroughly after the soaking period.
