1. How often should I apply the UV Protectant?
For the best results, we recommend reapplying every 3–4 weeks if your boat is kept outdoors or used frequently. If your vessel is garaged, a top-up every few months is usually plenty to keep the protection active.
2. Is this safe to use on my leather seats?
Yes! Our formula is gentle enough for leather but tough enough for marine-grade vinyl. It helps keep leather soft and prevents the drying out that leads to unsightly cracks.
3. Will this make my vinyl seats slippery or greasy?
No. We know how dangerous a slippery boat deck or seat can be. This protectant is designed to absorb into the material, leaving a clean, hydrated finish that isn't oily to the touch.
4. Can I apply this in direct sunlight?
For the most even finish, it is best to apply the protectant to a cool, dry surface in the shade. Applying it to hot vinyl can cause the product to dry too quickly before it has a chance to properly bond.
5. Do I need to clean the seats first?
Yes. For the UV blockers to work effectively, they need to bond directly to the material. We recommend using our Marine Vinyl Cleaner first to remove salt and grime, ensuring the protectant has a perfectly clean surface to stick to.
6. Does it help with "browning" on rubber seals?
Absolutely. Browning (blooming) is often caused by UV degradation. Regular application of rubber seals and trim will keep them deep black and prevent them from becoming brittle.
7. How long should I let it dry before sitting on the seats?
After spreading the protectant evenly with a microfibre cloth, allow it to dry for 5–10 minutes. This ensures the barrier has set and won't rub off on your clothes.
