Setting up your X1 Premium Roof Top Tent

1. Unclip the Four Latches

Release all four latches on the hard shell. Always unlock the rear latches first, then the front latches for a smooth, safe opening.

2. Lift the Tent Roof

Give the hard shell a light push and let the heavy-duty gas struts take over, opening the tent in seconds.

3. Stretch and Tuck the Elastic Band

Pull out the elastic cord (designed to draw the fabric in when closing) and tuck it neatly out of the way for clear access.

4. Install the Rainfly Poles

Insert the rainfly poles into the rainfly sleeves to create shade and extra weather protection over the entry.

5. Attach the Access Ladder

Once everything’s set, climb inside, get comfortable and take in the scenery from your SkyDeck Tent.

6. Unzip and Roll Up the Side Flaps

Open the side windows and roll them up to let in airflow and keep the interior fresh.

7. Slide On the Shoe Bag

Attach the external shoe bag to the channel next to the ladder to keep boots and dirt outside the tent.

How much weight do I need my roof racks to support?

The X1 Premium weighs about 93 kg including the ladder and mattress. Your roof racks and vehicle roof must be rated at least this for dynamic load while driving. Always follow the lower of your vehicle or rack rating.
Will it fit a 4WD canopy or ute rack system?

Yes, the mounting rails suit most common 4WD canopy racks and cross bars up to 68 mm wide. If you are unsure, measure your rack width and spacing or send us a photo for advice.
Can I store bedding inside when driving?

Yes, you can leave your doona, pillows and sleeping bags inside, secured by the internal straps, so set up and pack down is faster.
How do I get the tent onto my vehicle?

Two adults can lift it onto your racks. We recommend using a forklift or loading dock if available. Once on the racks, the included mounting kit bolts straight in with basic tools.
Does it create wind noise on the highway?

The 180 mm low profile shell and tapered front edge reduce drag and wind noise compared to bulkier tents. Correctly mounting it flush with your racks also minimises airflow noise.
What is the ladder length and adjustability?

The telescopic ladder extends to 2.3 m and adjusts in 50 mm increments to suit different vehicle heights. Slip resistant feet improve stability on uneven ground.
Can I add roof load on top of the tent?

Integrated crossbars are included for light accessories such as surfboards or recovery tracks. The manufacturer does not publish an official load limit, always check your vehicle and rack ratings and use the lower number.
Is condensation an issue?

The X1 Premium has a large roof vent, double-layer fabric and condensation prevention mesh to promote airflow.
What happens if I need spare parts or repairs?

We keep replacement ladders, mounting hardware, seals and mattress covers in stock. Our support team can also guide you through simple repairs or help you order replacement components.
How does shipping work for something this large?

It ships via a tail lift freight service or to your nearest depot. We will send you tracking and the carrier will contact you to arrange a delivery window. Someone needs to be present to accept the delivery.
Can I install accessories like awnings or shower tents with it?

Yes, you can mount most 270 degree awnings or shower awnings to your roof rack alongside the tent as long as your rack width and load rating allow.
